About Me
My name is Becka Frost and I am graduating in May 2018 from Utah State University in Theatre and English Education. I was born and raised here in Utah and am a country girl at heart. Singing, summertime and laughing with my family are some of my favorite things.
My love for Theatre started at a young age and I continue to add educational fuel to my Theatre fire! I've always loved teaching and helping students to grow in confidence and discover who they are. My love for Theatre and English burns bright and I know that I can share that love through empowering students.

Teaching Philosophy 2018
WITH SO MUCH INSTABILITY IN THE WORLD… and in the lives of children and teenagers, it is important to me to be a safe adult in whom students can rely on and trust. A safe adult and an exceptional teacher is one who is:
- Emotionally controlled – I am constant, reliable and present in my classroom practices and reactions to daily situations and circumstances.
- Firm – I need students to know that no one is an exception to any rule and that rules are implemented and maintained for the safety of all.
- Fair – I need students to experience a classroom environment where each student gets exactly what they need to succeed.
- Friendly – I want students to feel happy, safe and appreciated in my presence.
THEATRE IS MORE THAN FRILLS, JAZZ HANDS AND BIG MUSICAL NUMBERS… participating in any aspect or form of theatre (e.g., acting, designing, watching, etc.) allows the participant to learn far more than what is exposed on a superficial level.
- Students can learn self-confidence, collaboration, and discipline.
- Students can understand the worth of empathizing and having compassion for others.
- Students can appreciate and experience the value of creativity and pushing the limits of authentic exploration.
THE BEST TEACHING ADVICE… I ever received goes as follows: “Don’t lose yourself.” Teaching, like any occupation, can consume one’s life if priorities are not balanced and moderated. It is my firm belief that in order to be an effective teacher who is:
- Driven,
- Resilient and,
- Engaging,
TECHNOLOGY IS EVER PRESENT IN OUR CLASSROOMS… and deserves a place in my classroom to supplement instruction. However, proper steps and precautions need to be in place so as not to hinder learning.
- Students can see correct use of technology modelled by me on a daily basis.
- Students clearly understand the expectations of cell-phone use in my classroom.
- Students can use technology to enhance their own learning.
