Becoming an Aerial Silk Specialist
This was by far one of the hardest yet most fulfilling productions that I've ever been a part of. The challenge was to learn and master a new skill that I never before had any experience with. We started a rigorous training schedule of 10 hours a week for three months before the production was to open. I learned many things from this experience. The first lesson I learned is that I can do hard things. This is somewhat obvious, yet any time I try something new and hard and find out that I like it (and can do it well!), is so rewarding. Another lesson that I learned is that I am stronger than I think, physically and mentally! This task was very taxing and required extreme physical strength and control. Not only that, but I stretched my mental capacities by taking myself to the limit and fearlessly trying that "scary" move.
Below you will find a letter of recommendation from the aerial silk specialist choreographer, Emily Heap.
